11 Esports Titles, Including Mobile Legends and PUBG, Announced for 2026 Asian Games

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has unveiled the list of esports titles set to be featured in the 2026 Asian Games. This edition will include 11 games, marking an increase of four titles compared to the previous Hangzhou Asian Games. The announcement was made following the OCA Executive Board meeting in Harbin, China.

As per the official Olympic Games website, the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games will showcase an expanded roster of 11 esports titles:

  2. Pokemon UNITE
  3. Honor of Kings
  4. League of Legends (Asian Games Version)
  5. PUBG (Asian Games Version)
  6. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
  7. Dreams Three Kingdoms
  8. Naraka: Bladepoint
  9. Gran Turismo 7
  10. eFootball Series
  11. Puyo Puyo Champions

Esports made its debut as a medal sport at the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games, following its introduction as a demonstration sport at Jakarta 2018. During the Hangzhou Games, medals were awarded in seven esports events: Arena of Valor Asian Games Version, DOTA 2, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, FIFA Online 4, League of Legends, PUBG, and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.

A 15-member Indian esports team participated in four titles at Hangzhou 2023: League of Legends, DOTA 2, EAFC, and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. India’s strongest performance came in League of Legends, where the national team advanced to the quarter-finals.

The inclusion of additional esports titles is expected to enhance India’s chances of securing medals. Notably, Pavan Kampelli won a bronze medal in eFootball at the Asian Esports Games in Bangkok in December 2023. Additionally, Indian teams have consistently competed in the Pokemon UNITE World Championships, with S8UL representing the country last year.
